Upper East Side

A feeling of warmth and intentionality grounds the kitchen in this Upper East Side apartment. On entering the room from the adjacent dining room, your immediate view is of the splendid Calacatta Borghini marble island and the fitted cabinetry beyond. For the full height furniture, we used deep green brushed oak which beautifully offsets the warm walnut lower cabinetry and island drawers. Walnut timber changes colour over time, starting off as a warm chocolate and developing into a rich burnt caramel. We loved that our clients wanted to embrace the natural properties of organic materials: the furniture we created together will grow in personality and patina along with the family it serves.
